Incumbent Senator Loses Osun APC Ticket

The Senator representing Osun Central, Olubiyi Fadeyi, has lost the APC senatorial ticket ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Adekunle Adegoke (SAN) emerged winner after polling 26,655 votes, defeating Fadeyi, who secured 13,138 votes.

In Osun East, former PDP senator Francis Fadahunsi won the APC ticket after defecting to the party in 2025 alongside four other lawmakers.

Fadahunsi, who currently represents Osun East in the Senate, reportedly scored 23,593 votes to defeat other aspirants in the primary election.

Meanwhile, insurance executive Dr Akin Ogunbiyi secured the APC ticket for Osun West with 30,568 votes.

The Osun APC leadership described the primaries as peaceful and urged aggrieved aspirants to use the party’s internal appeal process rather than cause division within the party.

The party also called on members and supporters to remain calm and maintain unity ahead of the 2027 elections.
